I rented a bike to ride to your house in a city that I'd never been before. The signs were all written in 8 other languages that I couldn't understand. There was a cathedral with cool architecture that let me know I was close. The scenery turned more green as I finally reached your neighborhood.

The field behind your house was so quiet I thought I had lost my hearing. Our feet pushed through the fog late that night you took me to the private bench. And there was a park where some people ran and we sat for a while. We kissed until you had to go to your job and I went to play a gig.

On the day I left, you said to me sweetly: "I am going to miss you." My two friends and your brother walked in front of us. We all waited on the platform to meet the train. I took a few pictures with my Dad's old camera.

I received your letters at my mom's house outside the city limits. I wrote you back but tried not to write too much because I felt emotional. My heart spilled into songs when I realized that I could neither swim or nor fly. Now, these days I think about traveling through space and time but mostly time.

Painting was never my forte but I learned to make it up just the same. Asking questions at the start of a journey makes it hard for me to find memories in color and sometimes black and white... Can you still see me in your mind?
